SEEMA - the untold story

( Synopsis)

The feature film Seema -the untold story captures the agony of evocation of crowds of men, women and chidren of the historic town of Tezpur in assam during Chinese aggression of 1962. Over  running town after town in NEFA, erstwhile Arunachal Pradesh, the threat of sweeping over Tezpur by the Chinese army became imminent.  The film captures the chaotic situation created by the collapse of civil administration resulting in a much exodus of the people of Tezpur in ferry boats across the Brahamaputra to Silghat in Nagaon district.

 It is high-charged drama of the patriotic fervor of its youths with the support of a few leading citizens of the town including a British BB news reporter against the  backdrop of the AIR broadcast of the Prime Minister expressing his deepest anguish for Assam at this critical moment. The contemporary highlights include release of the jail convicts and the inmates of the mental asylum and the humanitarian  work of the Mission Hospital.

The story ends with the unilateral cease-fire and retreat of the Chinese fores followed by the return of the evacuees and the happy union of a pair of lovers providing the grand finale.
